Dear PYFA Friends,
We can hardly believe it – what started as a spark of an idea between two young musicians has now grown into something real, something exciting, something we truly believe in. Welcome to the very first edition of the PYFA newsletter!
We are Ezo and Deniz – two passionate musicians who dreamt of creating an accessible, high-level, and all-inclusive music academy and festival. And here we are: this summer, PYFA (Pererinion Ysbrydol Festival Academy) officially launches at the stunning Gregynog Hall in Wales.
🎭 Why Ancient Futures?
This year’s festival theme, Ancient Futures, is deeply rooted in our love and respect for Gregynog’s incredible musical history.
Gregynog Hall has long been a place where music has flourished – a home for legendary performances, gatherings of great artists, and a centre for creativity. We want to bring that rich musical past back to life – not as something distant or frozen in time, but as something that actively shapes how we make music today.
Through Ancient Futures, we honour Gregynog’s legacy by blending it with a fresh, modern approach to music-making and education. This means creating spaces where historical performance meets contemporary thinking, where traditional repertoire is reimagined, and where students and artists alike feel free to innovate and explore.
It’s about bridging generations, reviving history, and inspiring the future. PYFA is here to show that what came before us still lives on — evolving, breathing, and transforming through the musicians of today.
