BEN NORRIS
Ben Norris is a London-based violist, arranger and producer, and Co-Principal Viola of the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Ben completed his studies as an ABRSM Scholar in 2023 at the Royal Northern College of Music, where he won the RNCM viola prize and multiple prizes for chamber music. As a chamber musician, Ben has performed at Wigmore Hall, Royal Over-Seas League, and Cowbridge Festival.
Ben appears regularly as a guest principal across leading UK orchestras and recently toured the USA and Europe as Co-Principal of the Philharmonia Orchestra, performing twice at Carnegie Hall. He also freelances with Sinfonia of London, Manchester Camerata, Manchester Collective, London Contemporary Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra and Jules Buckley Orchestra.
Enjoying a variety of musical genres, Ben’s work ranges from classical to electronic collaborations, as well as recording for TV and film. Artist collaborations include St. Vincent, Pet Shop Boys, Laufey, John Cale and Gary Barlow to name a few. In his spare time, Ben enjoys watching films, surfing along the North Devon coastline, and a good vintage shop.
