In high school she attended Boston University Tanglewood Institute and Greenwood Summer Music Camp. At the University of Michigan, she has performed a wide variety of music from playing harpsichord in Baroque Ensembles to working on new music in short films. She has performed with multiple classical chamber ensembles and often plays in community concerts in Ann Arbor and the surrounding areas. She has an affinity for Opera Music and last summer worked for an opera company in Salzburg, Austria where she performed multiple operas as well as multitudes of art songs. She has competed on the international stage, with highlights including second prize at the inaugural Costa Festa International Piano Competition in L'Alfàs del Pi in 2019, and was a prizewinner at the Clavis International Piano Competition in St. Petersburg in 2018, allowing her to perform in Sheremetev Palace. As an orchestral musician she has worked with Welsh National Opera, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, and Sinfonia Cymru, and is a regular extra player with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. She also was a ‘Foyle Future First’ with the London Philharmonic Orchestra 2022-2023. Tabitha has performed solo twice for HM King Charles, has enjoyed multiple TV appearances with BBC and S4C, and has played for several film and television soundtracks. She is a founding member of Quartet Draig, a Welsh string quartet with whom she has performed at the Wigmore Hall. Equally dedicated to inspiring the next generation of young musicians, Tabitha has a busy private teaching practice, and is a teacher, orchestral tutor and conductor at ‘Cardiff and Vale Music Education’. She holds a Bachelor's degree, two Master's degrees and an international PGCE specialising in whole class teaching. She is currently on trial for Co-Principal Viola at the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Sub-Principal at Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She is an MMSF Fellow at the Philharmonia Orchestra. Her string quartet, the Slate Quartet released their first EP in early 2025 of Brett Dean’s String Quartet No 1 ‘Eclipse’ with Luminate Records. In 2025 they will also debut at King’s Place and have performed around the UK and abroad including at Petworth Festival and Ferrandou Musique. In September, Carys was invited to Open Chamber Music at Prussia Cove. She has performed with the Pro Musica Ensemble and Stephan Dohr at the Utzon Centre, Denmark.
